In South Florida, that excitement surrounds Henry’s Palm Beach (Palm Beach, FL), which debuted June 17 as the newcomer to the island’s dining scene. This neighborhood restaurant — the latest addition to the culinary collection of The Breakers Palm Beach — features elevated comfort food with character and a hint of nostalgia. Located just a few minutes from the resort on Royal Poinciana Way (Palm Beach’s original Main Street), it is situated at Via Flagler by The Breakers, an alfresco plaza featuring a curated collection of boutiques, eateries and residences.

Named after Florida visionary and resort founder Henry M. Flagler, Henry’s approachable concept of American favorites has made it a coveted spot for dining and drinks; with guests inspired to regularly visit for dinner and weekend brunch. But in advance of opening, Henry’s was well prepared to emerge in a radically different landscape. As established restaurants re-assessed if/how to re-open, The Breakers’ food & beverage team adeptly retooled its plans for their new venture to adapt to the new realities. Nick Velardo, VP Food & Beverage – Restaurants for the entrepreneurial, family-owned resort, explained, “We were in a unique, nimble position to evolve Henry’s operational strategy, layout and menus, to unveil a safe and satisfying dining experience at the onset.”

Specialties range from the raw bar, “handhelds” (sandwiches), USDA-Prime beef and fresh fish, to signature dishes such as Pigs in a Pretzel Dough Blanket, Butter Crumb Dover Sole and Smoked Salmon Pizze for weekend brunch. Daily specials feature classics like chicken pot pie, beef Wellington and fresh pastas. “The food is familiar, but with something unexpected about every dish,” said The Breakers’ Executive Chef – Restaurants, Anthony Sicignano. Guests savor traditional and eclectic cocktails; local, artisanal beers; or choose from Henry’s expertly curated wine list or among four, fun “wine flights” by the resort’s award-winning Master Sommeliers, Virginia Philip and Juan Gomez; and “Prohibition” non-alcoholic, fresh fruit beverages.

For Henry’s 4,200 sq. ft. interior, The Breakers enlisted longtime collaborator and celebrated hospitality designer Adam D. Tihany, working as design consultant to Dailey Janssen Architects, to create an inviting, casually elegant setting with a lively Palm Beach energy. The playful design and fresh color palette create an open, dynamic atmosphere throughout the restaurant.

Located at 229 Royal Poinciana Way, Henry’s Palm Beach is The Breakers’ second off-site restaurant on the island, along with the highly-popular Echo (230A Sunrise Ave.), which features the distinctive cuisines of Asia. Henry’s is open Monday, Wednesday and Thursday from 5 PM – 10 PM (closed on Tuesday); on Friday from 5 PM – 11 PM, Saturday from 11 AM – 11 PM, and Sunday from 11 AM – 10 PM; weekend brunch is served 11 AM – 3 PM. Reservations are recommended and can be made online at henryspalmbeach.com or by calling (561) 206-1896.
