Chris Gabaldon is Senior Vice President, Luxury Brands for Marriott International, where he oversees global brand operations and marketing strategy for the company’s powerful luxury portfolio. Spanning all corners of the world, Marriott International’s luxury brands group offers a boundless network of more than 440 landmark hotels and resorts enlivened through The Ritz-Carlton, Ritz-Carlton Reserve, Bvlgari Hotels & Resorts, St. Regis Hotels & Resorts, EDITION, The Luxury Collection, JW Marriott and W Hotels. In collaboration with the company’s global development team, Chris is leading the way in growing this prestigious portfolio while defining the rare and enriching experiences the modern luxury traveler craves.

A 29-year hospitality industry veteran, Chris was previously Chief Operating Officer at Auberge Resorts Collection, a role he was appointed to in 2019. Prior to his time with Auberge Resorts, Chris had an extensive career with Marriott International. Most recently, Chris was Marriott International’s Area Vice President overseeing the company’s luxury portfolio in Canada and the American West, during which he played an instrumental role in the integration of the Starwood luxury portfolio. Prior to this role, Chris served as the Chief Sales & Marketing Officer for The Ritz-Carlton, Ritz-Carlton Reserve and Bvlgari brands. During this time, he was involved in the early development of the Ritz-Carlton Reserve brand, The Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection, and partnered with Marriott Rewards to launch The Ritz-Carlton Rewards – the first tailored loyalty program in the luxury hotel category. He also led the highly acclaimed "Let Us Stay With You" Ritz-Carlton brand campaign, which was one of the first marketing messages to address the shift in affluent consumer purchasing behaviors to experiential travel.

Chris earned a Bachelor of Business Administration from James Madison University and his Master of Business Administration from George Mason University. He is a member of the Hospitality, Sport and Recreation Management Board at James Madison University, where he is a frequent guest lecturer. He also serves on the Forbes Standards Advisory Committee.
