Thank you to all who attended the ILHA East Coast Chapter Meetup at the Wharf Intercontinental in Washington, D.C.! We enjoyed lovely views of the Potomac River and good company while networking and forming new relationships.
A special thank you goes to our hosts, Jamie Doyle of Carr Companies and Chris Lee and Alicia Wimmer of Wharf Intercontinental, for their hospitality. We are also grateful to Chelsey Leffet, SVP of HVS, for her help in making this event possible.
“The ILHA East Coast Chapter networking event at the InterContinental Wharf was such a lovely evening,” said Chelsey Leffet. “So many different stakeholders from our industry were represented: from designers and architects to ownership, brokers, management companies, and operations positions were in attendance, and the conversations were positive and forward-looking.”
Jamie Doyle provided a brief introduction to Carr Companies and their portfolio and shared his outlook on the market, which is bullish on luxury and soft-branded upper-upscale hotels, a recognition that the worst adverse impacts of Covid are behind us. He added that the industry is in uncharted waters as far as recovery is concerned, but he is looking forward to what is ahead and remaining positive.
ILHA Main Board member and President Barak Hirschowitz was in attendance, as well as East Coast Board members Ofra Gelman, Principal of Dwell Design Studio, Barbara Azzinaro, Interior Design at Cohen Azzinaro Associates, and Jessica Hahr, Senior Project Manager at MGAC.
“The evening was a great success, and we are excited to continue growing the East Coast Chapter. These get-togethers are a great way to connect with other luxury hotel professionals and forge lasting relationships,” said Barak Hirschowiz, President, ILHA. “We encourage attendees to seek out board members to learn how they can get more involved in the ILHA.”
Thank you to Barbara Azzinaro, Jessica Hahr, and Mary Blank of Hotel & Tourism Photography, Windborne Co., for their assistance with registration, and to Amy Zocchi, Manager of Public Relations at AMResorts, for her clever event planning.
