Claudia Adriana shares how Andaz San Diego prepares for the peak foodie season in April by increasing events and activations on the rooftop, incorporating specialty menus at its restaurants, and providing prime access for guests to explore even more culinary options in the vibrant Gaslamp District. How does Andaz San Diego prepare for the increased demand from visitors during April, which is known as a peak season for foodies in San Diego?

In gearing up for peak foodie season in April, the hotel increases events and activations on the rooftop and incorporates specialty menus at The Rooftop by STK, where guests can mingle by the pool with a backdrop of the San Diego skyline, and STK Steakhouse, for guests to indulge in more elevated seasonal dishes. There is something for every foodie to enjoy within the hotel, and our location in the vibrant Gaslamp District gives prime access for guests to explore even more culinary options and activities nearby.

Can you tell us more about the hotel’s rooftop fitness center and how it differentiates from other fitness facilities in the area?

The hotel’s fitness center features a wide variety of workout equipment and free weights, including our most in-demand option: the Peloton bike. Since the fitness center sits at rooftop level, added motivation for our guests comes from working out with a sweeping view of the city below.

Claudia Adriano, General Manager of Andaz San Diego

With so many restaurants participating in San Diego’s Restaurant Week, how does Andaz San Diego make sure its dining options stand out to guests?

The Andaz continues to highlight what it does best by providing the ideal setting for fun gatherings to mix and mingle, whether guests prefer to dine at the lively rooftop pool with shareable plates and a variety of creative cocktails, including our most popular drink, the Smoked Oaxacan Old Fashioned, or in the energetic, yet chic STK Steakhouse where guests can explore specialty entrees and cocktails while a DJ provides background entertainment.

How does Andaz San Diego balance catering to guests who are in town for business, attending events at the nearby Convention Center, with those who are visiting for leisure and seeking a more laid-back experience?

The Andaz San Diego continues to challenge the balance between work and play, daring guests to redefine how they do business. The hotel is located less than a mile away from the San Diego Convention Center and surrounded by vibrant nightlife, making it a convenient location for travelers who want to combine work and play, and providing enough options for travelers who want to choose between the two. The hotel encourages fun through our many on-site activations, energetic music selections, and open spaces for our community to mingle, though travelers seeking leisure can choose to opt-out of those activities and instead enjoy time in the poolside cabanas or lounge chairs to soak in the San Diego sunshine.

Can you describe the role of the rooftop pool and events in creating a vibrant nightlife experience for guests, and how does the hotel ensure that noise levels do not disturb guests who are not attending events?

It’s important to the Andaz that we offer a unique, local experience to our guests and visitors. We often identify those who will be attending our events or enjoying the downtown scene to embrace the livelier parts of the hotel, while respecting the peace of those who choose to find sanctuary in our hotel or when lounging by the pool. For those who are in need of a good night’s sleep, the hotel offers interior-facing rooms for a more tranquil setting and also a selection of in-room amenities to ensure one can rest through the evening.
