What are you doing in terms of wellness for guests?
Our hotel is dedicated to helping guests find balance during their stay. Our ZoiA Spa was recently renovated and offers a wide variety of treatments including outdoor massages in a poolside cabana, facials using locally-grown ingredients, and Massage den Awa, a gentle form of body therapy performed in the Trankilo pool that creates deep relaxation by combining elements of massage, shiatsu, and muscle stretching. Our “Rise and Shine” program consists of daily classes ranging from meditation and Tai Chi to aerial yoga to help guests start their day, and on each full moon we host moonlight yoga classes on the beach.

Our food and beverage activities also focus on wellness, with a Master Mixology class featuring Green Bar Distillery organic liquors and the Cooking with Chef series each Tuesday and Thursday teaching guests to prepare restaurant-worthy bites like guacamole or ceviche with the help of a professional chef. We also have a full-time Wellness and Wellbeing Ambassador who works with guests to keep wellness and mindfulness a focus of their stay by creating and enhancing experiences such as beach yoga and pool exercise classes.

Can you tell us about your recent renovations?
Hyatt Regency Aruba recently completed a multi-year renovation that included refreshed guestrooms, a brand new adults-only pool, transformed spa, new Regency Club, casino enhancements, and additional outdoor gathering spaces. Trankilo, the new adults-only pool, is accessible to all guests over the age of 18 and features ten cabanas available for reservation; cabana reservations include use of a semi-private shower, TV, Bose Bluetooth sound system, minibar, and access to a butler who solely caters to visitors in the cabanas.

The new Regency Club, available to World of Hyatt members with Globalist status and guests who reserve Regency Club Access, provides an elevated, seamless experience from private check-in to a dedicated concierge to book activities and excursions. The Club, a fresh and natural space complete with a lending library and computer workstations, is connected to the resort’s courtyard and has floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the Caribbean Sea.

The transformed ZoiA Spa offers a variety of treatments to help guests focus on energy, purity, serenity and devotion. These treatments include an Aloe Devotion facial using local aloe and a massage in the Trankilo pool for deep relaxation. The property also added 44 new state-of-the-art slot machines to the on-property casino that also features gaming tables and video poker machines.

What is your favorite meal at Ruinas del Mar?
My favorite meal at Ruinas Del Mar, which is accompanied by a gorgeous and relaxing view of our fresh water lagoon, starts with a signature fresh baked herb Focaccia bread, mozzarella crust and delicious flavor of truffle lightly salted butter; it is followed by a tasteful grilled octopus while I work my appetite up to a fresh Chilean sea bass. The amazing Ruinas staff reminds me to make sure I order early for proper preparation of the pear and pistachio dessert which is delightful. The Ruinas Del Mar menu offers a variety of food items for all culinary aficionados, with a new menu designed for each guest to build their own dinner experience.
